Now that the United States is involved in a war with terrorism, the question keeps cropping up "Is there anything I can do to protect my environment at home and at work?"

Since buildings are being constructed tighter and more energy-efficient, more buildings are causing health problems, such as sick building syndrome. Furthermore, we have had to battle natural contaminants such as stachybotrys chartarum (black) mold - a greenish, foul-smelling, black mold that can grow in most building materials and is capable of producing one or more mycotoxins (chemicals produced by molds) that may cause illnesses in people. If these problems weren't enough, now we must be concerned about biological agents and toxic gases.

IowaStateUniversity tested our filtration systems extensively for effectiveness in killing molds and listeria. The test results proved that our equipment could eradicate bacteria or mold that passes through our system. In particular, according to IowaStateUniversity, since anthrax is a bacteria, our systems should be able to capture and eradicate it. IowaState advised us that, by adding a HEPA Filter to our anti-microbial elements in our systems, we should be able to capture and eradicate any bacteria or mold passing through our systems. Anthrax has an average particle size of .5 - .7 microns in its vegetative state and an average particle size of 1 - 6 microns in its spore state. A HEPA filter captures particles as small as .3 microns with 99.97% efficiency. Since most biological agents take days or weeks to affect you, and our systems clean and sterilize the air approximately 4 times an hour, we believe our systems can be effective against most biological agents.

At the same time, sarin gas, a well known toxic chemical nerve agent, can be captured by activated carbon impregnated with a blend of oxidizers. Once again, we feel comfortable that we can capture this gas, along with soman, tabun, VX, prussic acid, and chlorine. Furthermore, we offer gas filtration medias that can be blended to work against organic vapor, acid gases, ammonia and its derivatives, and hydrogen sulfide.

We are in the process of having our systems tested to verify these statements. However, if you review our past test results, you will agree that our system should be effective. Based on information from reliable sources and our experience in capturing chemical fumes, as well as killing bacteria and molds, we believe that we can help protect your environment from biological and toxic chemical agents, along with VOCs and other contaminants within your home or workplace.
